Cletus Makler: You cannot sell the vehicle if you have a secured loan on it. You must have the title in order to sell it.
Ollie Hamiel: If you have the legal title you can sell the car subject to a lack of registration and subject to whatever state laws are in place regarding the insurance claim. One of these days some one has to appeal or get the law changed about allowing insurance companies to have the benefit of using public resources and the force of the government for purposes of bill collection and civil remedies. How many businesses would love to get people to pay their bills by having the DMV suspend their license or registration until the bill is paid. Elvin Mannheimer: Hmm, I never heard of that. Are you in Britain or somewhere? Cuz here in the states, you selling your car has nothing to do with your registration (although makes it hard to test drive it). Any new buyer should ha! ve no problem registering it in their name.
