Crafts for people with intellectual disabilities???

Luke Gacusan: They could ask and answer questions on Yahoo Answers.

Shelley Stevens: Depends on the severity of the disability. With a minor disability, they may be able to do everything nondisabled people do. With a severe disability, you may want to stick with "preschool" level crafts. If it is possible to incorporate daily living skills or job skills in the craft, that would also be good. For instance, correctly handling a paintbrush or pencil. This might allow them to possible find a job as a painter, and the pencil may improve their ability to communicate. For possible ideas, check all the craft books in the libraries, as well as the craft sites online such as michaels.com. You can also do a search for kids crafts....Show more

Rodrigo Pezley: Well, let them invent there own crafts like this: Give them some peices of paper, crayons, safety sissors, elmers stick glue, some popsicle sticks and string. Then, start making something like maybe a stick person with! a colored paper dress or something and they will copy you.Good Luck!

Matt Tiry: Those knitting rings were really popular and my great-Aunt, who was mentally disabled from birth, really enjoyed 'knitting' something she couldn't manage before. They have them at Joann's.
