Verena Koop: No. WE are not spending near enough. All tax revenues should be concentrated on getting us off this planet and into the stars. Humanity can not afford to keep all of our eggs in one basket. As it stands now if the earth goes we go. WE MUST GET OFF THIS PLANET!The long term survival of our species is the most important thing.
Vernon Martorana: The amount of money spent on NASA is actually quite small as compared to the Federal Budget. I don't agree that doing science is any kind of waste.
Nestor Klan: lol, i like Mark's reference to the Twilight Zone movie. That last piece was bad ***
Sammie Bocanegra: Nope. I saw a 3-D Imax movie about the Hubble telescope. It was incredible.
Darnell Cutliff: XBOX LIVE FTW
Irving Jordahl: education used to be reserved for the wealthy.
Charis Deguzman: If Al Qaeda was going to bother to send in trained saboteurs, don't you think they'd shoot for an industry that was hiring? I mean, if the! y've got a couple of employed airline mechanics working for them, just imagine how many terrorists there must be sitting around waiting for the economy to improve so they can get out there and cause havoc.
Dalila Yoon: Gremlins.I saw one once. I looked out my window, there it was crawling along on the wing of the plane. Nobody believed me, ..........
Avis Brantner: No. I think space exploration is a prudent investment. Our planet is only so big, and the human race is going to need more room to live and grow if we keep growing at the rate we are. You might not appreciate the steps we are currently making in space exploration, but your descendants likely will.
Ariel Arons: No, paying for permanent welfare benefits for those who are of able body and sound mind is the biggest waste of tax dollars.
Dick Maisenbacher: Because free public educationis written into almost every states, state constitution.
Clare Hoard: The main goal of a public educat! ional system is simple. In a country where it population has ! an active role in government (voters) it is to prepare them to take on that role. The system is to educate them so that they have the basic tools to make an informed decision as to who should represent them.
Foster Koopmann: Do you think there are some Jihadists as Airline Mechanics for Delta? I mean Obama is opening up the world to Islam right?
Felipa Nosis: -Because MOST of Us can't afford Private Ones !! ;)
Monty Sieloff: the reason I ask this is thaat if police can pull anyone over without justification just to find out who that person is is a violation of law...several court decisions have ruled that it is not permitted
Leontine Kreitz: Our race and planet are doomed. Failure to move elsewhere will be the downfall of the entire species. Not today, but if we don't plan ahead...It's a little short-sighted to only think about such mundane things as cleaning up a doomed planet.
Robin Tommie: nationalistic-to winsocialistic-to pay teachers ! lots of money
Olen Penhallurick: The only reason I see a need for public education is the fact is that it teachings how to coexist with many types of people. Can you imagine how much hate and prejudice there would be if all children in one religion went to one school, all black kids went to one school, all latinos went to one school, etc etc etc, sorry but if education were left to people having to put their kids in private schools I know America would resort to this. It would make our children live in an utopia and not understand how to interact with different people. It would lead to more ignorance....Show more
Ivan Velazquez: Do the police in Arizona have to have justification to stop people under this law?It is my understanding that a police officer must have a reason to stop a person and the person must be legally detained before the officer can demand ID. I also believe that an officer can stop anyone if they fit the description of someone who has committ! ed a crime (such as fitting the description of someone who just robbed ! a store)..But under this new Arizona law, does the officer have the right to legally detain a person without justifying that he has committed a crime? and no looking like a latino is not a crime."legally detained" does also mean keeping a person's license after a routine traffic violation while the person waits in his car....Show more
Emile Okafor: How about someone wearing a turban and a beard with a large backpack who looks suspicious to a police officer but is commiting no crime.
Michel Mccaulley: How else is the government gonna turn the kids into nice little socialists?
Glynda Darrin: Where I live a police officer can pull me over for no cause whatsoever simply because they set up a DUI checkpoint. The AZ law is less invasive than the constitutionally protected DUI Checkpoint law.So, I don't know what anyone is getting hysterical about.
Marylee Lucks: Public education is essential to maintaining a democracy. The nations that don't foster good p! ublic education also happen to be the least democratic.
Veta Slicker: Not when you consider the everyday products that came from the space industry. Everything from velcro to the computer you are sitting in front of.
Jonie Lauria: Democrats are proposing to solve this problem by cracking down on employers and forcing them to require ALL WORKERS to show a super duper Social Security card:THIS IS THE BILL SUMMARY THAT CALLS IT A SOCIAL SECURITY CARD:http://news.yahoo.com/s/huffpost/20100430/cm_huffp...National ID Card Included In Democratic Immigration Bill"The crackdown on employers relies on the creation of national identity cards. "These cards will be fraud-resistant, tamper-resistant, wear resistant, and machine-readable social security cards containing a photograph and an electronically coded micro-processing chip which possesses a unique biometric identifier for the authorized card-bearer," reads the bill summary."...Democrats insist that it is not an ID car! d and can only be used for employment purposes. "PAPERS, PLEASE?oh, but ! this is OK because it only violates the rights of PEOPLE WHO WANT JOBS.It won't apply to "normal" people, in the eyes of the Democrats......pffft!
Jodie Capella: "Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves therefore are its only safe depositories. And to render even them safe their minds must be improved to a certain degree. This indeed is not all that is necessary, though it be essentially necessary." -- Thomas Jefferson, from 'Notes on the State of Virginia' Query 14"It is better for the poorer classes to have the aid of the richer by a general tax on property, than that every parent should provide at his own expence for the education of his children, it is certain that every Class is interested in establishments which give to the human mind its highest improvements, and to every Country its truest and most durable celebrity." -- James Madison; from letter to W.T. Barry (Aug. 4, 1822)...Show more
Cr! aig Virani: Of course, that is where it starts. You get pulled over for speeding or something, then as they dialogue with them, they may determine it reasonable to ask for ID. Of course, it is part of standard procedure to ask for driver's license, which is a valid ID under the new law anyway. The law first of al, mirrors existing Federal law. There is nothing in the law that gives law enforcement any authority to do anything contrary to constitutional rights.
Sammy Hatzenbihler: I agree, but the thing is that it has been cut back tremendously. If there is room for further cuts to that and the Air Force, I would be fine
Olin Hallin: Yes. You are right. It is pure fantasy to think humans can survive in outer space. There is not a craft or vehicle which can stop certain radiation. To those of you that think the "Space Station" is in space, wrong. It is in inner space, protected by Earth's gravity, magnetic field and shadow.Yes, the money could be put to bette! r uses.
Tillie Wynott: Seriously when would we live in space? And ! why not clean up our planet instead of wasting billions looking to the stars?I think it's the biggest waste of tax dollars there is!!!
Kate Baune: I do not think a lot of people know it but they changed the law yesterday. They passed an amendment to the bill changing the phrase "lawful contact" to â any lawful stop, detention or arrest made by a law enforcement official or a law enforcement agency of this state or a law enforcement official or a law enforcement agency of a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state in the enforcement of any other law or ordinance of a county, city or town or this state "That was the way it was before they passed SB 1070. That is the way it has been in just about every U.S. city so I am cool with it now....Show more
Azzie Trembly: There are some places in the world that do not have public education. Most of the people cannot read or write. No corporations will ever bring any good jobs to these places becau! se there aren't any qualified workers. The people live in poverty and have a short life expectancy. These places without public education are called third world countries.
Floy Fague: Because a majority of us, cannot afford it!
Justin Casten: Our worst fears have been confirmed, either Al Qaeda is training birds to fly into jet engines, or even worse, the birds have become sentient and have become kamikazes to avenge the extinction of the passenger pigeon. FACT.
Maritza Ebanks: I have a feeling youre right
