are celebrity cruises good?

Marylee Lucks: Celeb cruises are pretty good. It really depends on what you are looking for. I have been on 3 Celebrity cruises and loved them all. Have fun!

Carolin Southers: Celebrity is a great cruise line. We have also enjoyed Princess and Holland America. If you are traveling with small children, Disney has a ship that caters to families and children. Where ever you go, just have a great time.

Donny Bankson: I realize that many people simply love Celebrity, but I will not go with Celebrity ever again! First, with boarding there was no one available to help with luggage or to show us to the cabin. Second and most important, the air conditioning in the cabin did not work properly, and the fellows who came to fix it did not fix it, but banged on a couple of pipes, fiddled with the thermostat, shrugged, and went away. When the butler called the front desk he was told it was already fixed, which it was not. The temperature in the cabin was the same a! s on deck in the shade -- about 90 degrees! My sister went personally to the front desk and was told there was nothing that could be done and that we should just keep the veranda doors open. Nor was there another cabin available. I went to the desk, and when they told me the same thing I told them that we need either another cabin of equal or better quality or an immediate and proper repair. I also noted that if this were the cabin of the Captain or a senior officer I was certain that the air conditioning would have been fixed properly and promptly, and that there were engineers on board the ship who were competent to repair any system on the ship, from engines and stabilizers on down the line. They finally send up two senior engineers who got it repaired to the extent that the cabin would cool to about 85 degrees, and who told us that was the best they could do while the cabin was occupied since they needed to tear out the system in the cabin and replace it, which was! major construction with tearing out walls, etc., and that the! y had already checked about moving us and found that nothing was available. What a disaster that was! Another thing I really disliked about the ship was that the service in the dining room was glacially slow, and really believe that 3 hours for dinner is unreasonable -- and yes, after the first night we did clock it! Finally, the ship (Century) was configured so that both swimming pools were together on one deck, which concentrated people cheek to jowl. There was nothing on that ship that helped even out the problems. As to Celebrity for my family -- NEVER AGAIN! I have sailed with Cunard several times, Holland America several times, Princess, and Costa, always happily and never with problems such as those we found with Celebrity....Show more

Dorethea Beaston: I have cruised on two Celebrity ships, the Constellation and the Mellinneum, and have another cruise booked on the new Solstice. Both of these are great ships. I have also cruised on several other cruis! e lines including RC, NCL, Princess, and Holland and so by comparison Celebrity is the best. Its definitely a cut above some of the other like NCL and RC in terms of service and amenities. I would rate Princess and Holland a close second. If you are cruising with kids between the ages of 7 and 17 I suggest Royal Caribbean because they have the most things on their ships for kids and everyone. And they are a good cruise line that provides a lot of options for itineraries and ships....Show more

Rachell Meese: ive only been on royal carribean 8 timesmy parents said they were on celebrityand it was pretty nice.(:

Randall Twehous: Great choice!

Donald Caravalho: It all really depends on what you are looking for in a cruise.. Celebrity is great but it is a little one the upper side.. They have alot of restrictions as well as even tho they have the Leap Frog children's program there are not as many children on these ships and you might find on Royal Caribbean..! And it also depends on how long you would like to go and such.. RCCL ! is coming out with a new ship the Oasis of the Seas that is amazing with a onboard carousel as well as the rock climbing wall as a zip Line. the ship is also the only one of its kind with the water theater where they will have different shows and such.. I would go onto the web site and check it out. I will advise that it is defiantly a little more laid back ad relaxed then Celebrity . But still really nice.....Show more
